Alba Botanica Hawaiian Face Cleaner Review

face cleanser.jpg

Hello lovelies,

As you can see today I have a review on the Alba Botanical Hawaiian face cleanser. I use this cleanser everyday day before going to bed and often use it after taking off all my makeup.

I love this cleanser because it is paraben/phthalates free and this company does no animal testing!

The product itself does a great job of cleaning your face and has a very light tropical smell. It smells like a mixture of pineapples and the tropics. Immediately after using it I feel like all the oil, dirt and sweat has been cleaned right off . I actually turn the water off for a few minutes and really rub this onto my face because it starts to foam just a tad as well. The one little blurb I must say however is this may not be for my dry skinned folks, for as much as I ADORE this cleanser it makes your skin  dry and I always moisturize with my GinZing lotion right after.

Origins Ginseng Energy Boosting Moisturizer

Hello lovelies,

Today I have a review for you on Origins Ginseng Energy Boosting Moisturizer. Let me just say I love it.

I use it on my face and good lord people though it may be rather pricey a little goes the longest way. I really like how when I put it on my face it is extremely easy to rub it in and though the initial feel is very oily, it gets absorbed almost immediately.  Not to mention I actually feel as though my skin is more “energized” and I feel so refreshed after every application.

I wear this once in the afternoon before heading out and the once at night after washing my face with cleanser. I also use it to mix with foundations, works like a charm! You can find it at Sephora.

Naked Foundation

Just this past summer I started getting into makeup. What prompted this sudden eagerness was the fact that I had a Sephora gift card sitting in my wallet for eight months and because I was going to college where I hoped to attend many social events… it seemed the “proper” thing to do.

The makeup product that everyone says to splurge on is foundation and I agree. Once you get the base of your face right and it is properly set, the rest of your makeup “flows on” so to say. My foundation of choice thus far is Naked foundation.

I must put a disclaimer however that this foundation is good if you are looking for light to sheer coverage. I usually end up wearing my Naked foundation whenever I feel my face needs a little “boost” or when we are simply going to someone’s house for a casual dinner. In fact, for more fancy or nighttime events I end up mixing my Naked foundation with other things.

Despite its sheer coverage I find more pros and no cons to this foundation. It’s

  1. Easy to apply (it is liquid and light)
  2. Feels light on the face and thank the lord does not have a cakey feel
  3. If matched properly gives the skin a gorgeous “sheer” look
  4. The bottle it comes in is very sleek and fits in any cosmetic bag
  5. Sulfate AND paraben free, yes please

Revlon Nail Polish: Pure Pearl

pearl white polish

This nail polish is perfect for any event in any season during any time of the year. Unfortunately, you can not really tell by this picture but it is a gorgeous cream-white shade. For once a nail polish sticks true to its color name. “Pure Pearl” actually looks like you took pearls, melted them and then painted them on your nails. The last huge benefit? This color will match with any look!

Revlon Nail Polish: Copper Penny

Revlon nail swatch

Everyone has a personal favorite company or brand for a certain product and for me Revlon nail polish wins every time. In fact when you open you my nail polish drawers 95% of the bottles belong to REVLON! They have so many colors to choose from, from pastel to enamel to metallic and the colors last for quite a bit of time. In the picture above I am wearing “Copper Penny”, a subtle yet obvious nail color which gives the right amount of glam without overdoing it. Perfect for everyday wear during autumn or for a night out with friends.
