Some Goals

Heyo lovelies,

Holiday season combined with finals makes for a very busy time in any student’s life. Due to this I decided to share some small quick goals of mine that I hope to accomplish within the next 2-3 months. These aren’t necessarily New Year’s resolutions but more of things which need to be accomplished for the benefit of myself.

  1. Go to the gym at least three times a week: My lovely room mate and I had actually gone consistently till the end of October, however, once assignments picked up, dance rehearsals started and the weather got colder our frequency became less and less. The gym wasn’t just great for staying healthy but for de stressing as well.
  2. Change the format of my blog: Thanks to all you wonderful readers my blog is at nearly 100 followers, I had told myself that once I strike 100 I will change the format of my blog as well.
  3. Start a YouTube channel: I am proud to say that lately I have been expanding on many of my skills- baking, makeup, etc. I’ve always loved to be in front of the camera and I’ve always loved the idea of having a YouTube channel, hopefully this is one that can happen very, very soon.
  4. Get an internship: I need to make use of being so close to the capital of the country and I need to take more advantage of being so close to metros

Until next time!

Revlon Color Stay Blemish Concealer

Hello lovelies,

Today I have some quick words for you on the REVLON Colorstay Blemish Concealer. I own the shade in medium as that matches my skin tone best.

Now I double use this concealer as a primer, highlighter and blemish concealer.

Some pros of this are it is extremely easy to use because of the thin wand applicator. I love how I can reach the tiny nook and cranny under my eyes without poking them out. Second, the concealer actually does the most epic job of making the areas you highlight more accentuated and lifted. Last, is its job as a primer (which is the very reason why I first used it). If you put this on as an eyeshadow primer, you can go to a club, dance for hours on end without a care for your eyeshadow because it will not come off (and trust me this has been Shreya tested). There is honestly no use buying hella expensive designer primer when this can be found at a much cheaper price at any drug store.

My only con with this is it does seem to dry rather quickly once you put it on your face so you really have to make sure to have the sponge right on hand to blend, blend, blend. Also, this is not the most easiest formula to blend out either.

Either way none of my makeup gets applied without this and especially if you’re a beginner with makeup looking for cheap primer that multitasks, I would buy this one!

Hello lovelies,

First off I would like to mention that I can’t believe its been a year since I’ve  started this blog, 1 year and 10 days to be exact. So happy belated birthday Class and Confidence!

Second off, The weather is cold, jackets are needed, scarves are needed, if you aren’t wearing boots then what are you doing? Plus, the heating is now being turned on in the house and thats when you know the cold weather has officially unpacked its suitcase and is here to stay!

Third off it always seems October-very early November is when everything happens because its technically the last month to safely do everything before it gets very cold and snowy. This includes dance recitals and practice, exams and projects pick up speed, etc, etc.

Last, I was a bit in a writer’s block these past couple of months and as much as I loved blogging was considering just deleting it (my blog). BUT, then I decided to give myself some time- get re inspired by my fave you tubers, get inspiration from stuff around me,etc.

Needless to say I think I’m back…for good. Not I think, but I am back for good, now bear with me for the next couple of posts as I get my gear whirring but in the meantime thank you for all the love, I am nearly at 100 followers and can not wait to hopefully accomplish this goal before the year ends.

Summer Ending, Back to the GRIND

Hello lovelies,

Wow has it been a while since I’ve been on here, as you may have guessed from the title college has started again. Which also means stress, hypertension and having nervous breakdowns season is back. Just kidding! Well, kind of…

One good thing about school starting however is my birthday, which happens to be on 09/05.

With the end of summer also comes the rise of the exciting holiday season Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I can not wait for the mentioned holidays because I’ll be putting up quite a few posts on makeup looks and baking.

Until next time!

Neutrogena Visibly Even: First Impressions

Hello lovelies,

As you can already guess today I’m going to be giving you my first impressions on this Neutrogena Visibly Even daily moisturizer.

I must say at this point I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I really, really love it. First off it does the job of sunscreen with an SPF 30, but the best part? It doesn’t have that nasty sunscreen smell or horrible, greasy sunscreen texture. For someone who despises regular sunscreen this moisturizer is a holy grail, especially during summer! An added bonus is that it smells amazing.

It does keep my face moisturized and actually does seem to be carrying through with the advertised promise of evening out one’s skin tone. My one concern is it is not helping the recent summer breakouts I have been having and I can’t tell if it is making my breakouts worse or not. However at this point that is the only complaint I have.

If you’re skin isn’t too sensitive and your looking for a good sunscreen and moisturizer I’d look into this one. I know I’ll be purchasing another bottle before I go back to school.

How To Makeup: Part 2

Hello lovelies,

“Invest in the bones”, its a term we hear a whole lot, whether that be in terms of actual investments, your closet or makeup. However, it can be hard finding “the bones” of makeup especially with so much variety out there in both high end products and drug store brands.

Well, never fear because this post is here! All the products mentioned are ones that I use and simply can not live without, whether it be high end brands or drugstore products this is the list I have thus far of makeup every beauty lover should have in their bag.

  1. Naked Foundation: Amazing coverage, long lasting, easy to use…what more does on need? In fact, this is the only foundation I have at the moment and I don’t see any reason to change it anytime soon. If you’re looking for a foundation splurge on this one!
  2. Maybelline Kajal Eyeliner: The pigmentation on this was dark as anything, it worked wonderfully on both my waterline and upper eyelid. Definitely a cheap buy,but a good one!
  3. Naked 2 palette: If you’re looking for neutral, light shades this Naked 2 palette if exactly what you need. These shades are perfect for a night out or a casual meeting during the day.
  4. Maybelline Studio Creme Eyeliner: For me Maybelline is the drugstore brand that SLAYS in eye makeup. This creme eyeliner is no exception, once again darkly pigmented, easy to use and perfect for dramatic cat eyes or simple lined eyes.
  5. Sephora Palette: The variety of colorful eyeshadows in this is beyonf amazing. The palette has everything from neutral, gold shades to electric blues and dark purples. Plus the colors are really long lasting, especially when used with primer. The blushes and lip colors are an added bonus. The lip colors are perfect to give yourself an even bolder look.
  6. Stila liquid lipstick: Paraben-free, sulfate -free, uber pigmented and long lasting with a large variety of colors. What more needs to be said?

Here are all the “bones” that I currently have in my makeup bag and can’t live without. Here’s to hoping you’ll find something that you like too!

How To Makeup: Part 1

Hello lovelies,

As I have mentioned many times before my hunger to learn more about makeup has been growing these past couple months, so whether it be watching tons and tons of makeup tutorials over and over again or obsessively adding things to my Sephora basket, you can say I’m slowly preparing myself to turn into a beauty junkie.

However, although I LOVE watching tutorials, I always thought that there could be something better that I could be doing or that just watching videos wasn’t helping my makeup inept self. WRONG. In the past couple months my makeup skills have improved so much that it is insanity, as I post more parts to this “series” I will add pictures as well so that you can see the difference.

Meanwhile if you are on square 1 like I once was, here are some steps you can take to get started on “how to makeup” yourself.

  1. Watching YouTube videos: especially watching videos over and over again really helps to put into perspective how to do certain techniques like blending eyeshadows, making a wing liner, using a beauty blender, etc.
  2. Save don’t splurge: If you’re just starting out with makeup as a COMPLETE novice go ahead, whip out some coupons and head out to the drugstore to start your initial collection. Drugstores carry some of the best quality makeup brands and its a great way to save. Some of my favorite drugstore brands are Maybelline (especially for eye products) and Neutrogena.
  3. Do your research: Search up which brands work best for your skin type, which won’t cause a reaction, etc.
  4. Invest wisely in the “bones”: Once you think you have a relatively good handle on how to go about, only buy what is necessary. If you feel you are more comfortable with a beauty blender, just buy a cheap two pack of those.
  5. Practice: One of the funnest things to do is practice makeup. If you’re bored and just lying on the couch why not grabbing that makeup bag and trying a couple different looks. Not only is it fun but it helps set your hand for when you actually need it.

Until next time!

Tumbleweeds and Motivation

Hello lovelies,

And wowzeee, it has been a long while. I can nearly hear the tumbleweeds crunching along the ground here.

My summer vacation has been going along much, much faster than I can keep up with. In the midst of practicing for my driver’s test, going to the gym and so on and so forth, I feel like I barely have time to breathe. Plus my life has felt like it is such a routine! Granted now we have some events and other fun things planned but other than that for these last three months I had no motivation to do anything including blogging. I had blogger’s block if you will.

I feel in order to stay motivated you need freedom, change and an open mind. Being in the same environment for such a long period of time (no matter how much of a homebody you are) can get really, really frustrating. You get irritated, annoyed and in my case really bitter.

Nonetheless, I did have thoughts about just shutting down this blog but then as I looked back on my old posts I realized why I had started this blog in the first place and somewhere from UBER deep within a SLIGHT amount of motivation came peeping through and here I am.

I am so excited for this blog, I have quite a bit of new material to post and talk about AND am finally considering makeup tutorials.

Till then please stay along with me for what should be a very fun ride!

P.S- I have no idea why I chose a random picture of my Panera lunch but in my mind in somehow works with post…you may now proceed to laugh.

Weekly Favorites: 6.1.2016

Hello lovelies,

Hope everyone is having a great week thus far, I figured because I haven’t done a weekly update in a little bit of time why don’t I do one now? As usual I hope u enjoy!

  1. Beats Headphones: Now I am the kind of person to use audio hearing devices to a minimum, whenever I am walking or on the bus on campus I prefer to be aware of my surroundings and in the car I simply put in the aux cord.  However being at home means I don’t want to disturb my fellow people and my lord these headphones actually block out ALL noise.
  2. Suryaputra Karna: I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW and sometimes I feel my physical being can’t handle it, whether it be the amazing acting , the amazing soundtracks or handsome actors IDK, but the show is expected to end soon and I know won’t be a happy cricket when that happens ;(
  3. H and M: Man they have been slaying in everything lately, with epic sales and even more gorgeous styles this has my go to shop recently.
  4. Oil Pastel: every summer I like to take up from project and this summer is no exception, I’ve worked a lot with paint in the past and for this summer I decided tp switch it up and move on to oil pastels fbf to 9th grade.
  5. Betty Crocker Carrot Cake Mix: One epic thing about Betty Crocker mixes? You don’t have to follow the recipe exactly but you’ll still be just fine. I made this cake just today and it was absolutely delicious!

A Reflection

Hello lovelies,

Now often times on here I don’t like to post too much about myself because I assume well who really cares what I am doing? However, today is my first official day of summer vacation, yup, my freshmen year of college is over and honestly, where did it go? I feel just yesterday I was finishing my arangetram, moving into my apartment, excited to meet and greet new people.

Now my freshman year did not exactly go as planned but it definitely was a year where I was able to self improve and learn new things. Stick along if you want to see what I mean.

  1. I learned to live on my own: Unlike a lot of our other friends me and my one other friend chose to get a 4 suite apartment complete with our own bathrooms. Needless to say a huge luxury from the nasty (no offense) dorms on campus. This meant making sure I woke myself up, fed myself basically functioned all on my own without the guidance of mother dearest. Needless to say I think it went well, considering I am sitting here in front of you writing this post.
  2. Cook food: Now before I start, let me just inform you that I was deathly afraid of fire (and the stove) until the end of August (AKA right before I moved in). Yet I overcame my fear and managed to create the following-> boxed mac and cheese, cheese quesadilla, basic pasta, grilled cheese, veggie patty sandwich. Again you may laugh but to me this was a great accomplishment.
  3. Drink more water: Folks, my water intake went from a 0.5 to a solid 9, if thats not an accomplishment IDK what is.
  4. Cleaning: No offense, but I gained some major wifey points if we combine this with my basic food cooking skills. Despite the fact that I was in an apartment I didn’t let my cleaning habits go, obviously I cleaned my room and bathroom but in addition? The common kitchen and common giving room. In fact, I cleaned it to the point where it looked like someone waved a very magical, cleaning spell over the place (just saying)  #wifeystatus
  5. Trying out for everything: Granted I made it into only half a thing, but unlike high school I tried out for everything right off the bat. Every dance team, every organization, every internship.
  6. Make new friends: Now I may not have gotten the ride or die squad I wanted this year. But I do strongly believe I was able to find my 2-3 ride or die friends and I couldn’t be happier.
  7. Learn to not be as scared: Now I have my moments but whether it be minor things like finding my class on a large campus or sneaking into the stadium at night Im beginning to get a tad bit more adventurous.
